A Walkman was a portable audio cassette player and recorder. It was the progenitor of all the portable tape and disc music players that followed. It was difficult to carry a walkman in their pocket, but the 90s kids knew how to do it.

VCR or a video cassette recorder, was a device that recorded, stored, and played back television programs on a TV set by means of a cassette of magnetic tape.

 

In the modern era of OTT platforms, where watching a show or a movie is just a few clicks away, it will be hard to believe that for many years, people used VCR for the best cinema experience at home.

'Lattu' or spinning top is one of the oldest desi toys played in India. The lattu spins rapidly with the aid of a string rope coiled around its axis which when pulled quickly, sets it in motion.

 

Kids back then used to play this desi game for hours. For the kids born in the 2000s, it was then the Beyblade.

There were days when marbles or 'kanche' were cooler than Marvel. The marble games were something else back then.

 

The game was played with round glass marbles and the goal was to collect as many marbles as possible by shooting and striking other marbles with the ones you have. 

Before PUBG and Garena Free Fire and other mobile and PC games, there were these hand-operated video games. The 'Classic Brick game' was a favourite of many. 

These days, one has got a Pendrive or an online backup option to save their pictures, videos, or other stuff. But not many kids in the modern generation would know what was a floppy disk.

 

A floppy diskette, floppy, or floppy disk was used to store electronic data, like a computer file. It was one of the first types of hardware storage created in the late 1960s which could read/write a portable device.
