Kashmir's Winter Wonderland: Drang Waterfall Transforms Into a Frozen Spectacle- In Pics
Kashmir is witnessing its harshest winter this year and the temperatures have dropped below zero in almost all parts of Kashmir. Srinagar recorded the coldest night at minus 5.3 degrees, while Gulmarg saw temperatures as low as minus 4.
Just a few kilometres away from Gulmarg, the Drang waterfall has become a major tourist attraction, where night temperatures fall between minus 12 and minus 15 degrees and daytime temperatures also remain below zero. The continuous subzero temperatures have turned the waterfall into a frozen spectacle.
It has turned into a mesmerising sight. The site has particularly captured the attention of vloggers and content creators, who are flocking to document its stunning visuals. The waterfall has become a must-see destination for tourists this winter.
Hundreds of tourists visit the waterfall to see something they have mostly seen in films. The place is being called the "Winter Wonderland." This frozen waterfall has become a major attraction for tourists, who are flocking to witness the natural spectacle.
Despite the bone-chilling cold, tourists visiting the place praise its beauty, saying that this is the first time they have seen such scenes, which they have either seen in films or heard about.
The severity of the cold is such that many lakes, rivers, water bodies, and waterfalls have completely frozen across the Kashmir Valley. Ladakh has also been experiencing a severe cold wave. Zojila recorded a temperature of minus 23 degrees.
The weather department has predicted that the weather will remain dry for the next four days and temperatures in the Kashmir Valley will continue to dip in the coming days.
