Moving on to the late nineties, Sridevi was still ruling Bollywood. In 1997, she starred in Raj Kanwar directorial Judaai co-starring Anil Kapoor and Urmila Matondkar.

The plot revolves around a destitute couple Kajal played by Sridevi and Raj played by Anil Kapoor. To gain wealth, Kajal suggests Raj marry his boss's niece Janhvi in hopes of gaining her money. The film takes off from there onto interesting twists and turns. Unfortunately, this film was Sridevi's last film before her 15-year break from films.

This gritty thriller was unfortunately the last time we saw Sridevi on-screen. In the 2017 film Mom, she had played a mother who hatches a plot to avenge her stepdaughter who was sexually assaulted at a party. At the 65th National Film Awards, Sridevi posthumously won the award for Best Actress.
