The 2020 American drama film Nomadland took home big awards at the Golden Globes 2021. Directed, written and edited by Chloé Zhao, the film blew the critics away with its unconventional story and breathtaking cinematography. The film, starring Frances McDormand, David Strathairn, Linda May and Swankie, is based on the 2017 non-fiction book Nomadland: Surviving America in the Twenty-First Century by Jessica Bruder.
The director Chloé Zhao won the Best Director award for her film and became the first Asian woman to win the award in 78-years of the Golden Globes’ history. The critically acclaimed film also won the Best Motion Picture, Drama at the international award show.
