The big daddy of film awards - Oscars 2021 will be held on Sunday (April 25) and excitement is already soaring high. The Academy Awards will be a three-hour event this year, starting from 5:30 am and ending at 8:30 am, according to Indian Standard Time (IST).
There have been several clutter-breaking nominations this year, embracing works from people of colour and marginalised communities.
As for Indian nominations, this year there are no Indian nominees in the Academy Awards.
However, there have been many Indian nominees and winners that have taken home the prestigious Academy Award.

Bhanu Athaiya
Bhanu Athaiya made history by becoming the first-ever Indian to win an Academy Award or Oscar for costume design in the film 'Gandhi' in 1982.
AR Rahman
The critically acclaimed musician won the Best Original Score and Best Original Song at the 81st Academy Awards for his music in the film 'Slumdog Millionaire'.
Resul Pookutty
Resul Pookutty, a sound mixer, won the Academy award along with Richard Pryke and Ian Tapp for Best Sound Mixing for the film 'Slumdog Millionaire'.
Gulzar
Notable Indian lyricist Gulzar won the Oscar for Best Original Song for 'Jai Ho' at the 81st Academy Awards. The song from the movie 'Slumdog Millionaire' was a collaboration between Rahman and Guzar.
Bombay Jayashri Ramnath
Jayashri Ramnath, a musician, and singer won the award for Best Original Song for 'Pi's Lullaby' from Ang Lee's film 'Life of Pi'.
