Mileage - 35.60 km/kg

The recently launched the Maruti Suzuki Celerio is not only the most fuel efficient petrol car in India, but is also the best car with highest CNG mileage. It is powered by the 1.0-litre K10C Dual-Jet naturally-aspirated petrol engine that delivers 56 hp of power and 82.1 Nm of peak torque and has mileage iof 35.60 km/kg. 

Mileage: 32.52 km/kg

Before the new Celerio was launched in India, it was the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R CNG with most mileage rated at 32.52 km/ kg. The Wagon R is powered by a 1.0-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine that churns out 56.2 hp of power and 78 Nm of peak torque. 

Mileage: 31.20 km/kg

Next, we have the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso, that replaced the 1.0-litre Alto in India. The Maruti S-Presso CNG offers a mileage of 31.20 km/ kg and is powered by a 1.0-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine that churns out 56.2 hp of power and 78 Nm of peak torque. 

Mileage: 30.48 km/kg

The first car apart from Maruti Suzuki in the list is the Hyundai Santro, which is the most affordable car in Hyundai’s India line-up and offers a mileage of 30.48 km/ kg. The CNG version of the Hyundai Santro is powered by a 1.1-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine that churns out 59.1 hp of power and 85 Nm of peak torque.

Another Hyundai on the list is the Aura sub-4-metre compact sedan and its CNG version offers a mileage of 28 km/ kg. It is powered by a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine. This motor develops 68 hp of power and 95 Nm of peak torque.

Mileage: 26.49 km/kg

The only other car apart from Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai on the list is one from Tata Motors. Tata recently ventured into the CNG segment of cars with the launch of the Tiago CNG that offers a mileage of 26.49 km/ kg. It is powered by a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder, naturally-aspirated, bi-fuel petrol engine that churns out 72 hp of power and 95 Nm of peak torque.

Mileage: 26.08 km/kg

Last on out list is the newly launched Maruti Suzuki Ertiga MPV. The biggest car in the list is a 7 seater vehicle and offers a mileage of 26.08 km/ kg which is pretty impressive for a vehicle of this size. The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is powered by a 1.5-litre four-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol engine that churns out 90 hp of power and 122 Nm of peak torque.
