Shahid Kapoor to Kangana Ranaut, Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is a hit among Bollywood actors: IN PICS

Ahead of the release of her movie Dhaakad, Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut took delivery of Mercedes-Maybach S680, becoming the first Indian to own this luxury sedan in the country. The Mercedes-Maybach S680 is the most expensive Maybach in India and the luxury saloon is worth Rs 3.20 crores (ex-showroom), sold in the country through the imported route.

Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor bought a brand new Mercedes-Maybach S580 on his 41st birthday. The dealership delivered a Diamond white colour sedan to Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajpoot. The Mercedes-Maybach S580 luxury saloon starts at Rs 2.50 crores (ex-showroom) in India.

While the Maybach S580 is assembled at Mercedes's Chakan plant, the S680 is directly imported to the Indian market and both were launched recently in India.

 

The Mercedes-Maybach S580 is powered by an AMG sourced 4.0-litre twin turbocharged petrol engine making 503 PS of power and 700 Nm of torque. This powerful engine is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission, which powers all four wheels. 

The Maybach S680 is imported in India and is powered by a AMG sourced 6.0-litre twin turbocharged V12 petrol engine, producing 612 HP and a mammoth 900 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 9-speed automatic gearbox as standard with power being sent to all-four wheels.

There are reclining rear seats with massaging functions, ambient lighting, noise cancellation, four-zone climate control, rear tray tables and a rear refrigerator with their own custom made solid metal flutes in the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class.

 

The Mercedes-Maybach S680 also gets level 2 autonomous technology, including systems such as evasive steering assist, autonomous emergency braking, lane keep and lane change assist. The Maybach S-Class comes fitted with 13 airbags as standard.

 

As being a luxury saloon, it has a premium interior with a new vertical mounted touchscreen infotainment system which measures 12.8-inches in size and runs on the second-gen MBUX system. Drivers get a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. 

The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class has become among the best selling uber-luxury sedans in the recent times, outnumbering other rivals like Rolls-Royce and Bentley.
