Taarak Mehta death: Politicians, actors tweet condolences

New Delhi: Popular Gujarati humourist Taarak Mehta's death has saddened his fans and admirers from various spheres. Celebrities, politicians and actors are deeply shocked to hear the sad news which marks the end of an era. Mehta, passed away on Wednesday morning after prolonged illness, reports suggest.

From Bollywood actor Paresh Rawal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, celebrities from all walks of life took to Twitter to express shock and sorrow.

Mehta was born on December 26, 1929. The Padma Shri awardee's popular works include 'Duniya Ne Undha Chasma', which inspired the hit Hindi sitcom 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah'.
