Sushant Singh Rajput denies sexual harassment claims, shares SMS conversation with Sanjana Sanghi—Read

New Delhi: Following the MeToo wave in Bollywod, actor Sushant Singh Rajput was recently accused of sexual misconduct by his 'Kizie Aur Manny'co-star Sanjana Sanghi. To defend himself, the actor shared screenshots of their SMS conversation and called it a "smear campaign".

The tweets containing the conversation have been captioned as, “"I feel sad to reveal personal information but it seems that there is no other way to state what was, in the midst of this curated and well-timed smear campaign. From the first till the last day of the shoot, this is what happened on the set with Sanjana.”

Check them out here:

Sanjana had accused the 32-year-old actor of behaving inappropriately on the sets of the movie, saying he made her feel "uncomfortable" with his "overly friendly behaviour" during the shoot in Jodhpur.

In addition to this, the actor's missing blue verification tick had also been pointed out by Twitterati. People had drawn links between the missing Blue Tick and Sanjana's claims. However, clarifying the same, Sushant in yet another Tweet wrote, "For all those deliberately using the missing of Twitter `blue tick` to substantiate their false claims, allow me to tell you that it is not there since September 5. Get your facts checked before jumping to conclusions that you so eagerly want to.

Popular casting director Mukesh Chhabra, who was supposed to direct the film has also be named in the MeToo wave. Mukesh has been suspended by Fox Star Studios after the claims. The official handle of Fox Star Hindi issued a statement on Twitter which reads “"As a responsible organisation, Star India takes any allegation of sexual harassment of women at workplace very seriously. Hence, Fox Star Studios has suspended the services of Mukesh Chhabra, director of our film `Kizie Aur Manny`, which is under production, till the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) of M/s Mukesh Chhabra Casting Company concludes its inquiry into the allegations against him,"

The MeToo wave in Bollywood seems to be getting stronger each day. Many names have sprung up like that of Alok Nath, Sajid Khan, Vikas Bahl and Anu Malik.
