Arjun Kapoor clarifies on 'fan misbehaviour' episode, says reports 'untrue'

New Delhi: Bollywood actor Arjun Kapoor, who is currently working on Dibaker Banerjee's 'Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar' hit the headlines after several reports suggested that a fan misbehaved with the actor and was later arrested.

However, the actor took to Twitter and clarified about the incident. He maintained that the reports are untrue and nothing of that sort happened.

Arjun tweeted: “How come I have no clue about this happening? The crowd here has been peaceful. There might have been a disturbance off camera but the local force has never let it reach till me. My entire family was in panic this morning so using words like assault isn’t cool just for effect.”

In another tweet, he said no one from the media house who reported the alleged event "got in touch with my PR team or me to get clarity before carrying an untrue front page article about me being assaulted. Rather unfortunate & avoidable. Hope this doesn’t happen in the future cause it got my family distressed and it’s not appreciated."

Several reports stated that the man who visited Arjun on the sets of his film was drunk and tried to misbehave with the young actor. As per a report in TOI.com, the fan, who was identified as a driver approached the actor in his vanity van to shake hands with him. When the actor came forward and shook his hand, the driver twisted it. Reportedly, the driver's car was seized and a fine of Rs. 500 was slapped on him for driving under the influence of alcohol.

The film also stars Parineeti Chopra in the lead and is scheduled to hit the screens in August 2018.
