Unseasonal rain, hailstorm lash different parts of western Odisha

Bhubaneswar (Odisha) : Unseasonal rain and hailstorm lashed different parts of western Odisha including industrial town of Jharsuguda town last evening.

Under its impact, harvested paddy crops and onions have been badly damaged.There was a sudden burst of rain in Jharsuguda at around 5 p.m. in the evening and it continued for several hours, forcing people to stay indoors.

The regional Indian Meteoroidal Department has said that the western disturbance and interaction between hot and cold air coming from opposite sides has caused rain and hailstorm in some areas.Rain and hailstorm were witnessed in Sambalpur district also.
