US President-elect Donald Trump met with close aides on Friday to examine potential candidates for posts in his future administration.

"Busy day planned in New York. Will soon be making some very important decisions on the people who will be running our government!" Trump tweeted in the morning.

Several close aides have entered the president-elect`s offices inside Trump Tower in Manhattan, although none made any statements to reporters, Efe news agency reported.

Among close advisers who visited the president-elect on Friday morning, were New York`s former mayor, Rudy Giuliani, who could be Trump`s choice for Attorney General; Corey Lewandowski, who was Trump`s campaign manager from January 2015 until June 2016 and Hope Hicks, who was Trump`s campaign spokeswoman.

Special security measures are in place after thousands of protesters marched from Union Square to Trump Tower on Wednesday night, angry about the eletion result.

Trump defeated Democratic rival Hillary Clinton and will succeed Barack Obama on January 20, 2017.

On Thursday, Trump discussed the transition of power with Obama at the White House and also paid a visit to Capitol Hill for meetings with leaders of the Senate and House of Representatives.
