SP leader Dharmendra Yadav accuses PM Modi, Rajnath Singh of lying on relief package
Samajwadi Party leader Dharmendra Yadav on Tuesday accused the Prime Minister as also Home Minister Rajnath Singh of "lying" about relief package to Uttar Pradesh for farmers, days after Narendra Modi praised his party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav.
Badaun (UP): Samajwadi Party leader Dharmendra Yadav on Tuesday accused the Prime Minister as also Home Minister Rajnath Singh of "lying" about relief package to Uttar Pradesh for farmers, days after Narendra Modi praised his party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav.
Modi and Singh "have lied by saying that a big package has been given to UP for farmers relief. The fact is that a meagre amount has been given," Yadav, a Lok Sabha member whose party is in power in the state, told reporters here.
When pointed out that the Prime Minister recently praised the SP chief, he said, "Modiji ko netaji (Mulayam) ki baatein samajh me aane lagi hain ye desh ke liye acchi baat hai. Hum unhe dhanyawad dete hain (Modiji has started understanding what netaji says, its good for the country. We thank him for this)."
Modi had on September 11 praised Mulayam for his efforts to end Parliament logjam by distancing himself from Congress' protest which stalled House proceedings throughout the Monsoon Session.
"Mulayam Singh is in the opposition. He criticizes us. Yet, for protecting the democracy, he made every effort so that Parliament be allowed to function," Modi had said while addressing a public rally in Saharanpur in UP.
On the issue of Siksha Mitra (contractual teachers), who are on streets after Allahabad High Court order against them, Dharmendra Yadav said the state government was with them and would help them.
The High Court last week had declared UP government's decision to regularise contractual teachers in primary schools as "illegal".
The state government on Sunday said it will move Supreme Court against the order and asked the teachers to desist from taking any extreme step in view of reports of suicides in the wake of the verdict.
