New Delhi: The Canadian wildfire has been making news during the past few days, ever since it started burning on May 1, 2016.

It began in the southwest of Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada and gradually swept through the community, destroying more than 2,400 homes and buildings and forcing the largest wildfire evacuation in Alberta's history.

The McMurray wildfire, as it is being called, has managed to impact Canada's oil sand operations and is being deemed as the costliest disaster in Canadian history.

To make the world aware of its dangerous impact, US space agency NASA released an image taken from its Aqua satellite, which shows a bird’s eye view of the clouds mingled with boillowing smoke, courtesy the wildfire.

According to NASA, the smoke has become entrained within the clouds causing it to twist within the circular motion of the clouds and wind.
