New Delhi: Space enthusiasts, it seems, are offered space treats on a huge platter, whenever NASA decides to air live spacewalks performed by astronauts up on the International Space Station (ISS), on its website's live TV.

Astronauts Time Peake, Scott Kelly, Kjell Lindgren and two other Russian cosmonauts have recently stepped out of the space station to fix some technical glitches aboard the ISS and the entire process was aired live by the US space agency.

Now, NASA it seems, is training another astronaut for a spacewalk soon. As part of the Expedition 50/51, NASA astronaut Peggy Whitson is the one who will soon be seen spacewalking her way from the ISS.

The image shows Whitson training underwater for her spacewalk. She is scheduled to launch to the International Space Station in late 2016.

As per NASA, Dr. Whitson first traveled to the space station as a crew member of Expedition 5, launching aboard the space shuttle STS-111 mission and returning six months later on STS-113. She was named the first NASA Science Officer during her stay, and she conducted 21 investigations in human life sciences and microgravity sciences as well as commercial payloads. Whitson became the first woman to command the International Space Station in October 2007, leading Expedition 16 during a six-month stay on the orbiting laboratory.
