Quran is unscientific, ideas that can't survive criticism, ridicule must be weak: Taslima Nasreen

New Delhi: Noted Bangladeshi author Taslima Nasreen has once again slammed the radical Islamists and said that “Islam is turning into a handicapped religion which cannot survive without legal support.”

She said that “Quran is unscientific and ideas that cannot survive criticism and ridicule must be very weak ideas.”

“I was 12 when I became an atheist. I realised Quran is unscientific and women abused,” she said in a series of tweets from a rationalists conference in the Estonian capital of Tallin.

She claimed that religion is incompatible with human rights and particularly women's rights. “People say Islam is a religion of peace, but my life experience is the opposite,”she said.

“In the west, people are scared of Islamist radicals and of being called islamophobes. My criticism of religion is by writing, not violence against people,”she added.
