The AYUSH Ministry on Saturday completely dismissed the reports claiming that the government did not recruit Muslims for short-term positions as trainers for WorldYoga Day as it was against its policy.

New Delhi: The AYUSH Ministry on Saturday completely dismissed the reports claiming the government did not recruit Muslims for short-term positions as trainers for World Yoga Day as it was against its policy.

To give credential to its claim, the Ministry said: "The Ministry of AYUSH has noted with anguish certain mischievous misinformation being spread on social media about Ministry quoting a reply to an RTI by mentioning a fabricated draft as "ANNEXURE-I" to that letter, which has never been issued by the Ministry of AYUSH or any of its agencies."

"The Ministry strongly condemns this piece of misreporting, clearly aimed at causing chasm between Sections of Society an promoting disharmony, mistrust and planting seeds of discontent with ulterior motive," the Ministry of Ayush added.

AYUSH also tweeted the reply sent to the RTI petitioner:

According to 'The Huffington Post' report, the AYUSH Ministry, while responding to an RTI query, said that it did not hire Muslims teachers and trainers for the World Yoga Day held on October 15, 2015.

AYUSH is short form of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy, and is the Ministry that promotes these branches of traditional medicine.

The RTI application was filed by journalist Pushp Sharma, who sought to know, how many applied for the short-term assignment abroad for the World Yoga Day.

The report say the ministry 711 Muslim yoga trainers had applied, but none of them grabbed the job. The Ministry in its RTI reply said that 3841 Muslim candidates applied for the post of Yoga trainer/teacher but no one was selected.
