My India, My Pride! When an Indian lady made Americans sing 'Jaya He'

Boston: A touching video shot in the distant United States has set the tone for India's Independence Day celebrations.

Sitting underneath a leafy tree in Boston, an old Indian lady, who appears to be a street singer, played our national anthem 'Jana Gana Mana' on a Glass Harmonica.

The melodious tune – that stirs a thousand emotions in us – attracted passers-by. And, they end up singing in chorus 'Jaya He, Jaya He'.

What makes her effort even more appreciable is that she chose to play India's national anthem in front of an overwhelmingly American audience when a bowl with dollar notes lay in front of her, suggesting that she won't mind appreciation in cash.

Logic would suggest that she tune the American national anthem but she chose the one from her motherland.

Jai Hind!
