Chennai: Shankaran, deputy jailer of Attur sub jail in Salem, has been suspended after a video of him dancing in uniform became a social media hit.

The video of Shankaran, 58, was widely circulated on social media including WhatsApp making him 'celebrity'.

However, that status didn't go down well with his seniors who suspended him on Tuesday.

As per reports, the incident happened when Shankaran was in Chennai to take part in Republic Day celebrations.

The dance was captured on a mobile phone.
