Earthquake today news: Tremors felt in Delhi, NCR

A major earthquake measuring 6.8 on the Richter scale on Wednesday hit areas around the Indo-Myanmar border and its tremors were felt in the Northeast, West Bengal, Bihar and other parts of the country.

Delhi:  Mild tremors were felt in several parts of Delhi and NCR on Wednesday evening when a 6.8 magnitude earthquake jolted the Myanmar-India border region.

The epicentre of the earthquake was at 23 degrees North latitude and 94.9 degree East Longitude on the Myanmar-India border region, said the India Meteorological Department (IMD). 

According to National Centre of Seismology (NCS), the earthquake occurred at 7:25 PM at the depth of 134 km.

The USGS says the quake's epicenter was 396 kilometers north of Myanmar's capital, Naypyidaw.

There were no immediate reports of damage to property and life.
