The examination will be conducted in 138 cities across India and this year, IIM Bangalore is the convener of CAT 2016.
As many as 2.3 lakh students have registered for the Test.
Admit cards can be downloaded from the CAT website, i.e. iimcat.ac.in till the test day.
Those reaching late i.e. after 8.45 am for the forenoon session and 2.15 pm for the afternoon session, will not be permitted inside the test centre.
Students would be attempting questions in three sections in the 180 minute-exam. While Section I will be Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), Section II will have Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR) and Section III will be based on Quantitative Ability (QA).
Candidates will be allotted 60 minutes for answering questions in each section and cannot switch from one section to another while answering question in a section.
Students appearing for the exam will be allowed to use the basic on-screen calculator for computation.
With a strict security protocol, candidates wearing shoes or any other closed footwear will have to leave the footwear (including socks) outside the examination hall. Also, students have also been asked to apply 'heena' (mehendi) on their hands as per the instructions issued by the conducting body IIM Bangalore, since digital fingerprint scan will be captured before the test.
As all electronic gadgets including earphones, mobile phones, microphones and health-band are banned inside the examination hall, students, therefore, have been advised to carry only admit card and original photo ID proof inside the hall.
Applicants who have opted for using a scribe must also carry the duly filled scribe affidavit along with the Photo ID proof of the scribe.
CAT 2016 results are expected to be declared during the second week of January 2017.
