Four killed in road mishap in Chhattisgarh

Korba (Chhattisgarh): Four persons, including a minor girl, were killed in an accident involving two motorcycles in Jashpur district of Chhattisgarh, police said
today.

One person was also injured in the incident that took place last evening near Putrichaura village under Lodam police outpost, said Jashpur Additional Superintendent of Police Neha
Pandey.

Kishore Ram, a 55-year-old school teacher from Lodam, and his granddaughter Nandini (10) were headed on a motorcycle towards neighbouring Jharkhand when they had a head-oncollision with another motorcycle carrying three youths from Gumla district of Jharkhand -- Nilesh Baik (19), Arman Toppo (18) and Sandeep (18).

"While Nilesh and Arman died on the spot, Kishore and his granddaughter succumbed to their injuries during treatment at a local hospital," the ASP said.

Sandeep, the third youth, was critically injured and has been moved to Ranchi for treatment, she added.

A case has been registered in the matter, the ASP said.
