BJP stunned into silence by Bihar reversal, Amit Shah in the firing line

New Delhi/Patna: The party had begun early in the BJP after early trends put it ahead of the Mahagathbandhan in Bihar assembly election 2015.

However, the tide changed in favour of the Mahagathbandhan around 10 am and the JD(U), BJP, Congress combine started to gain in trends.

The gap grew bigger with time. As per the latest trends Mahagathbandhan is ahead in 159 seats while BJP-led alliance is leading in only 74 seats and Others in 10.

As expected, BJP leaders have gone into a shell.

Party leader Ram Madhav was on the few who came out to comment on the huge debacle.

“We will have to accept people's mandate. Yes it was an important election for us and we had fought with all might...we will analyse the reasons for the defeat,” Madhav said.

However, the BJP appears appeared keen to deflect the blame of the loss from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party president Amit Shah.

BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi said, “In my opinion this election was not fought on the performance of Narendra Modi.”

When quizzed on whether Amit Shah would quit as party president, Trivedi said, “I am nobody to answer to answer this question.”
