BHOPAL: In an effort to make the education system better, the Madhya Pradesh government has come up with certain changes.
As per Zee Media reports, the children will now be evaluated annually through their practice copy. Also, class one and two children will be given smileys instead of marks.
Moreover, in these classes, fifty percent evaluation will be based on written and fifty percent on oral basis. Children will have to practice Hindi, English and maths in writing.
On the basis of the learning outcome, the children will be assessed orally. On the basis of this assessment, the progress sheet of the students will be filled.
The smileys will be given as per the efficiency and the ability of the children to learn.
Children who are found to be efficient will be given three smileys by the teachers. Those who are still in the process of learning will be given two smileys.
Plus, personal and societal attributes of class one and two children will be noted down on the progress sheet.
The changes will be implemented as an experiment in classes one and two in government schools from April 1, 2018.
Officials have been notified about the same. Government schools have approximately eight lakh students in class one and nine lakh in class two.
On the other hand, the children from classes three to eight will be evaluated from March 7 to March 31, 2018.
Also, recommendations have been made in the national curriculum framework so that children are imparted education in a fearless environment. In the Right to Education act too, a provision has been made to evaluate the students in a comprehensive manner.
The changes have been made after directions from MP education minister Kunwar Vijay Shah.
