Punjab saw a polling percentage of 59 per cent in 13 seats. In Chandigarh seat, about 64 per cent turnout was registered. Maximum polling percentage was witnessed at 64.18 in Patiala and the lowest was in Amritsar at 52.47.

The election in this constituency was held in the seventh phase of Lok Sabha election 2019 on May 19 and counting will be held on May 23.
Ravneet Singh of the INC was elected as the Member of Parliament from this constituency in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls. The Congress candidate bagged 300,459 and decimated Harvinder Singh Phoolka of AAP who got 280750 votes.
