Mufti Mohammad Sayeed's funeral prayers and burial will take place in the evening at the Dara Shikoh Park in Bijbehara in Anantnag district. His body was brought to Srinagar in an Indian Air Force plane.

Sayeed was admitted in a private ward in AIIMS on December 24 after he complained of fever and chest pain. He was put on ventilator on Wednesday after his condition had started to deteriorate.
