Bihar Assembly Election Results: As it happened

By winning 178 seats out of total 243, JDU)-RJD-led Grand Alliance is all set to form government in Bihar. On the other hand, the BJP-led NDA will sit in Opposition with 58 seats followed by others with 7 seats.

Election Commission has announced the final tally of Bihar Assembly elections results. Here's the status of 243 constituencies:

Raghopur:  Lalu Prasad Yadav's second son Tejashwi Pratap Singh has defeated Satish Kumar of BJP with 22733 margin.

Pirpainti (SC): Ram Vilash Paswan of RJD has defeated Lalan KUmar of BJP. with 5144 margin.

Patna Sahib: Nand Kishore Yadav of BJP has defeated Santosh Mehta of RJD with 2792 margin.
 

Mahua:  RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav's son Tej Pratap Yadav has defeated Ravindra Ray of HAM(S) with 28155 margin.

Korha: Punam Kumari of Congress has defeated Mahesh Paswan of BJP.

Khagaria: Poonam Devi Yadav of JDU has defeated Rajesh Kumar of HAM(S).

Jagdishpur: Ram Vishnu Singh of RJD has defeated Rakesh Raushan of RLSP.

Fatuha: Dr Rama Nand Yadav of RJD has defeated Satyendra Kumar Singh of LJP.

Chenari:  Lalan Paswan of RLSP has defeated Mangal Ram of Congress.

Danapur: Asha Devi of BJP has defeated Raj Kishor Yadav of RJD.

Bihpur: Varsha Rani of RJD has defeated Kumar Shailendra of BJP.

Bochaha: Beby Kumary independent candidate has defeated Ramai Ram of JDU.

Bisfi: Faiyaz Ahmad of RJD has defeated Manoj Kumar Yadav of RLSP.

Amnour: Shatrudhan Tiwary of BJP has defeated Krishan Kumar Mantoo of JDU.

Alamnagar: Narendra  Narayan Yadav of JD(U) has defeated Chandan Singh of LJP.

Bhagalpur: Ajeet Sharma of Congress has defeated Arjit Shashwat Choubey of BJP.

Bhabua: Anand Bhushan Pandey of BJP has defeated Pramod Kumar Singh of JDU.

Bettiah: Madan Mohan Tiwari of Congress has defeated Renu Devi of BJP with 2320 margin.
 

Benipur: Sunil Choudhary of JD(U) has defeated Gopal Jee Thakur of BJP with 26443 margin.

Benipatti: Bhawana Jha of Congress has defeated Vinod Narain Jha of BJP with 4734 margin.

Congress' Md Afaque Alam, who won the Kasba seat in 2010 Assembly Elections, continues to retain the constituency by defeating Pradip Kumar Das of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Matihani constituency: Narendra Singh alias Bogo Singh of JD(U) defeats BJP's Sarvesh Kumar Singh.

Rameshwar Prasad Chaurasia, the BJP candidate from Nokha Assembly constituency in Rohtas district, loses to Rashtriya Janata Dal candidate Anita Devi.

RJD's Harishankar Yadav, popularly known as Mukhiyaji, defeats Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Manoj Kumar Singh from Raghunathpur.

Sahebpur Kamal seat: Lalu Prasad's Rashtriya Janata Dal candidate Shreenarayan Yadav defeats M.D. Aslam of Lok Janshakti Party (LJP).

Vijay Kumar Mandal of the BJP wins Sikti Assembly seat defeating Shatrughan Prasad Suman of the Janata Dal (United).

Referring to Janata Dal (United) leader Nitish Kumar, Yadav says that "we brothers" express gratitude towards the people of Bihar. Nitish Kumar will continue to be Bihar's Chief Minister, announces Yadav.
