'Bihar results a victory of liberal Hindus'

New Delhi: Speaking in the wake of the controversy over beef, the Congress on Sunday described the victory of the Mahagathbandhan as a victory of the liberal Hindus.

“I want to congratulate the people in Bihar. It's a great victory for the Hindu mind which is liberal,” ANI quoted Kapil Sibal as saying.

It may be recalled that the BJP had raised the issue of 'beef eating' in Bihar election campaign and even issued an advertisement ahead of the fifth phase highlighting the views of other parties' leaders' on consumption of beef.

The underlining theme of the BJP's 'holy cow' ad was: are you with those who eat beef or with those who respect and consider cow as 'mother'.
