All schools, colleges in Chandigarh closed till March 31 due to rising COVID-19 cases

Due to the rising COVID-19 cases, all schools and colleges in Chandigarh have been closed till March 31.

New Delhi: The Chandigarh administration on Monday (March 22, 2021) announced to shut down all schools and colleges till March 31. The officials also said that all public Holi-milan gatherings will be banned. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also launched the 'Jal Shakti Abhiyan: Catch the Rain' campaign on the occasion of World Water Day.

Earlier in the day, Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed three rallies in Assam ahead of the state Assembly Elections. BJP National President also addressed the public in Assam. Nadda is also likely to release the party manifesto for Assam Assembly polls on Tuesday (March 23).

In other news, Karnataka has now made it compulsory for passengers arriving from Punjab and Chandigarh to produce a negative COVID-19 result.
