NEW DELHI: There is confusion over whether the results of the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2017 will be released on Friday or not. There were earlier reports that the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) which conducts the exam was due to release the results on Friday.
However, some reports are now claiming that IIM officials have denied the reports and said that the results will be declared in the second week of January. The earlier notification available on the official CAT website too, mentions that the results are likely to be declared by second week of January.
The candidates who took the exam can check their scorecard on the official website iimcat.ac.in after the results are announced. Candidates may also be intimated individually by SMS.
The exam was held on November 26, 2017 which was taken by nearly 2.31 lakh candidates.
The exam was held across 140 cities in two sessions. The 180-minute test is divided into three sections - I: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension; II: Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning; and III: Quantitative Ability.
CAT is a pre-requisite for admission to various management programmes of IIMs. The test scores are also used by the listed non-IIM member institutions for admissions for management studies. The score of CAT 2017 is valid only till December 31, 2018.
Students can access the list of non-IIM member institutions which have registered to avail the CAT 2017 scores at provided at www.iimcat.ac.in.
