New Delhi: Eman Ahmed, who weighed 500kg plus when she first arrived in Mumbai earlier this year, has been discharged from the hospital on Thursday, in which she was being treated for severe obesity.

At 170kg, Eman, once known as the world's heaviest woman, is now lighter by over 350kg following her treatment at the Saifee hospital in Mumbai.

Reports say the Egyptian woman was discharged from the hospital at around 12: 40 pm on Thursday for her further treatment in Abu Dhabi.

A green corridor organised by Mumbai Police has been formed to assist in transporting Eman from the hospital to Gate No 5 of Terminal 2 at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International airport in Mumbai. Her flight to UAE took off around 6 pm on Thursday.

Accompanied by her sister Shaimaa, who made shocking allegations against Dr Muffazal Lakdawala and his team, the 36-year-old will continue her treatment at Burjeel Hospital in Abu Dhabi.

The Saifee medical team, on the other hand, said on Wednesday that they have 'forgiven' Shaimaa for making false allegations against them.

Meanwhile, Burjeel Hospital CEO Dr Shajir Gaffar said all arrangements have been made to shift Eman to UAE

“Patient safety is our main aim. She will fly out in the evening,” Dr Gaffar was quoted as saying.

Nurses who took care of Eman for months said in a tweet, although she has left the hospital her memories will always remain with them.

Ahead of their trip to UAE, Shaimaa thanked India and the Indian doctors for treating her sister Eman.

Eman arrived in Mumbai on February 11 and underwent a bariatric surgery on March 7. After 83 days at Saifee hopsital and unprecedented weight loss, she is leaving the country for further treatment in Abu Dhabi.
