New Delhi: Salman Khan, who promised his fans a "double size" avatar in ‘Sultan’, is gaining muscle for the upcoming film instead of piling on weight. He says it's "difficult" and requires "a lot of hard work".
"I'm not gaining weight but gaining muscles for 'Sultan', and that is difficult. It is not fat... You have to follow a strict schedule, but then it makes you stronger and fitter. It takes a lot of hard work," Salman said.
Bollywood's ‘Dabangg’ actor, who will turn 50 in December, followed in Aamir Khan's footsteps for Ali Abbas Zafar's ‘Sultan’, in which he will be seen as a wrestler. Aamir has been in news for his weight fluctuations for his film projects and that has raised concerns in the family over his health. But Salman said that it's not the case for ‘Sultan’, which will hit the screens on Eid 2016.
The actor asserts that as he is not gaining weight or adding fat, there are no health complications involved.
After entertaining his fans with a heart-warming story in ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, Salman will be making a comeback on the silver screen with his iconic 'Prem' character in ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’. The family drama, which reunites Salman with Sooraj Barjatya after 16 years, also stars Sonam Kapoor and Anupam Kher and will hit the screens on November 12.
Though Salman is excited over the film, he rues the fact that he is unable to dedicate much of his time on his fitness training.
"Training is going good. It is just that I have not given much time to it because of promotion of 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo'. I wish I wouldn't have to promote films so that I would have concentrated on the training more. But this is also important," he said.
One of the fittest actors of Bollywood, has started intensive training for wrestling and mixed martial arts for ‘Sultan’ with international action director Larnell Stovall. Produced by Aditya Chopra under his Yash Raj Films banner, the movie is reportedly based on the life of a wrestler and the shooting of the film is scheduled to commence in November.
