New Delhi: Actress Nimrat Kaur says there is a need to be more aware of how animals - wildlife or stray animals - are treated in India.
Her views comes after a video of a pup being thrown down from a multi-story building went viral on the internet, and another video showing some boys burning alive three puppies at a graveyard in Hyderabad created quite a stir.
The cause of animal welfare is not the only social cause that is close to Nimrat's heart. The actress, known for films like 'The Lunchbox' and 'Airlift', also stresses on the importance of imparting education to all.
She said: "And the other thing that I feel very passionately about is education among children whether its girl child or a boy child, I think education eventually is the way out of any tunnel that we find ourselves in at the lower strata of the society."
Nimrat, who has also made a mark internationally with her work in shows like 'Homeland' and 'Wayward Pines', added that "if there is in anyway I can contribute to any of these causes, if not all then these are the closest to my heart."
