Kannada actors drown to death while filming stunt scene: Film industry members express shock

New Delhi: A film stunt went horribly wrong on Monday when two Kannada actors drowned in a lake near Bengaluru while performing a stunt scene. It all happened when the duo tried to jump from a helicopter into a lake near Bengaluru.
From veteran Rishi Kapoor to actor Kichcha Sudeepa, a lot of celebrities from the Indian film fraternity have come forward to express their condolences.
The stunt act was a part of the climax in the upcoming film 'Maastigudi' where the hero (Vijay) chases two villains who make attempts to escape in a chopper. The hero too hops onto the chopper, which flies over the lake's backwaters.
As seen from the film footage, aired on local news channels, in a fight between the hero and the duo, the hero pushes both the actors from the chopper and joins them in the reservoir to carry on the fight.

It is also being alleged that proper safety measures were not implemented by the filmmakers for the stunt sequence.
