Policeman among three shot dead in Delhi

New Delhi: A suspected criminal, his friend and a police official on his security duty were shot dead in outer Delhi's Mianwali Nagar.

Monu Dariyapur had gone to meet his friend Arun in the National Market around 11 PM yesterday. The two Delhi police personnel on his security duty were also present there when some unidentified persons, in a car and on two motorcycles, reached there and opened indiscriminate fire.

The police said Dariyapur, Arun and Assistant Sub- Inspector Vijay were killed in the firing. Constable Kuldeep sustained injuries on his arm. Kuldeep's condition is stated to be stable.

On the basis of Kuldeep's statement, a case has been registered in the matter and an investigation is underway in it.

The security was provided to Dariyapur on a court's order.
