New Delhi: With the BJP emerging as a clear winner in crucial Delhi municipal corporation elections, its senior leader and Rajya Sabha MP Subramanian Swamy on Wednesday called for dismissing the ruling AAP government here.
I think the President should dismiss the Delhi government and order fresh elections afte its humiliating defeat in the MCD polls, Swamy said.
Stating reason for his demand, Swamy said, ''the popular support for AAP has evaporated now.
The ruling party has lost people's faith in it.''
The BJP leader stated that the Delhi government was dismissed earlier in 1977 and the same was upheld by the Supreme Court.
The reactions from Swamy came after it MCD poll results indicated BJP as a clear winner with AAP at the second spot and Congress coming a distant three.
Earlier, taking moral responsibility for defeat, Ajay Maken quit as Delhi Pradesh congress chief.
