New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has assured that his government will notify land pooling policy, once the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) elections is over.
"We are raising this issue with Delhi Government from last one and half year and met several time with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Now Delhi Chief Minister has assured that his government will notify land pooling policy by May 7," Amit Dabas from Delhi Dehat Vikas Manch`s said.
According to the Delhi Dehat Vikas Manch, post the MCD election there will be a clear way for construction of 24 lakh affordable housing in Delhi and 15% housing will be for Economic Weaker Section(EWS).
The land pooling policy is stuck with Delhi government even after getting the nod from Delhi Development Area (DDA) and Ministry of Urban Development in 2015.
The Policy was notified by the Ministry of Urban Development in September 2013 while the regulations for operationalisation of the policy were approved in May 2015 by the ministry.
Once the policy gets notified by Delhi government around 6, 2000 acres of land will be released for the development.
Majority of Lands which are falling under this policy are in Narela, Najafgarh and Bawana.
According to the land pooling policy, the land owners offering between two to twenty hectares of land for development will receive at least 40 percent of their land back, and those who are giving away 20 hectares of his land would get 60 percent of their pooled land back once the development is completed.
The remaining land would become DDA`s property and will come under the Master Plan 2021.
