After Amarinder Singh, now Haryana CM has a few words for Arvind Kejriwal

NEW DELHI: Days after Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh lashed out at his Delhi counterpart calling him a 'peculiar' person, Haryana's Manohar Lal Khattar too has a few words for Arvind Kejriwal.

“What steps did Kejriwal take for stubble burning over 40000 hectares of land in Delhi,” asked Khattar in a letter addressed to Kejriwal through a letter.

Khattar further said that his government spent over Rs 39 crore out of the sanctioned Rs 45 crore to tackle the issue of crop burning, whereas neighbour state Punjab has not used any fund of its allotted Rs 98 crores to check crop burning.

Accusing the Delhi CM of playing politics for vote-bank, he said, "I will be in Delhi on Monday and Tuesday. There is no response from your office on meeting."

The Delhi CM has earlier alleged that both Punjab and Haryana CMs have no time to discuss the crop burning issue.

"My office continuously trying to take time from CMs of Punjab n Haryana for me to meet the two CMs. Its an emergency(sic)," Kejriwal tweeted hours after he sent a letter to Captain Amarinder Singh and Manohar Lal Khattar.

"Setting politics aside, Centre, Haryana, Punjab and Delhi should come together to find a solution to stubble burning which causes high pollution level during this time every year. I have been seeking a meeting with both Haryana and Punjab chief ministers since yesterday, but I have not received any response," Kejriwal had said.

Responding to this, the Punjab CM had said, "Mr Kejriwal is a peculiar person who has views on everything without understanding the situation. There is 20 million ton of paddy straw, where do I ask farmers to store? So Mr. Kejriwal doesn't understand this problem."

The CMs of Delhi and Punjab took to Twitter to discuss crop burning where Kejriwal had asked Amarinder to meet to find a solution to the problem but the latter said the issue can only be solved by the Central Government.
