Viru's epic retirement tweet to 'smiling assassin' Lakshmipathy Balaji will leave you laughing all day

New Delhi: Former Indian pacer Lakshmipathy Balaji called times on his first-class cricket career after 16 successful years.

The 34-year-old Balaji who has 30 ODIs, 8 tests and 5 T20Is to his name will continue to play in the Indian Premier League and the Tamil Nadu Premier League but plans to spend more time with his family.

It isn't quite possible that something major happens in Indian cricket and Virender Sehwag doesn't talk about it through his twitter account.

As the news of Balaji ending his first-class career broke, there was Viru again tweeting about the smiling assasin.

On his retirement, Balaji was quoted by the Hindu, "I have to move on, have a young family now. I have given it all during my 16 years as a first class cricketer. I will be playing in the shorter forms of the game in competitions such as the TNPL and IPL."

Though he played only 8 test matches for India, he left his mark in the famous India-Pakistan series in 2004 where he played a significant role in his side's 2-1 series triumph.

Balaji made his Test debut for India on October 8th, 2003 against New Zealand.
