New Delhi: Dhoni might be absent from Indian cricket team's international outings in Test cricket, but that has not stopped his die hard fans to travel from one part of the country to another.
In the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy, three brothers traveled all the way from Chennai to meet their hero Mahi who was busy guiding Jharkhand to the semi-final of the tournament.
“We are here to meet Dhoni,” said Aakash (one of the brothers) as per a report in Indian Express. “All three have traveled for more than 2,500 km and have been in Delhi since the last four days just to meet Dhoni bhaiya. He (pointing at one of his brothers) even took leave from his job just to meet our idol, our hero,” he added.

“We are from Cheenai,” reads one of their pla-card and it’s kept close to other one which says, “Want to meet u MS Dhoni.”
Dhoni guided his team in the final four of the tourney with trademark six and as soon as that happened, Akash jumped the boundary fence and ran like there was no tomorrow. He wasn’t the first intruder in the match, (two others had already interrupted play. First was when Dhoni walked out to bat, second when he was on crease) but his motive wasn't just to take the skipper's autograph like the previous two.
He instead went on to touch Dhoni’s feet before handing over a hand-written letter enclosed in an envelope. “’I have come from 3,000 kms away’, I told Dhoni bhaiya and touched his feet” he revealed. “Dhoni bhaiya said ‘3,000 kms. Really.’ I just took his blessings and not the autograph as the policemen grabbed me. My motive was served as I desperately wanted to share our feelings with Dhoni bhaiya,” says Akash after he was released by the policemen.
The security officials might have forced him out of the field, but his questions just didn't stop.
"Is it possible to meet him, did he read my letter, I gave him you saw?”. His questions wouldn’t stop and hope was still not lost. The Chennai brothers kept their hope of meeting “Dhoni bhaiya” alive hoping he would return to “Chennai with the Super Kings” in the Indian Premier League season next year.
“Dhoni bhaiya will be back to Chennai (Super Kings) next year. We will continue to try and meet him.”
MSD's Jharkhand will lock horns with Bengal in the VIjay Hazare Trophy semi-final at Feroz Shah Kotla stadium on Saturday after a fire accident in the team hotel forced BCCI to reschedule the clash earlier meant to take place on Friday.
