The 81-year-old further revealed that he, in his last meeting with Misbah, had asked the latter to inform his decision on continuing or retiring as soon as possible.
Karachi : Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shaharyar Khan has revealed that Test skipper Misbah-ul-Haq has still not informed the board about his retirement plans.
Misbah had earlier expressed his desire to tour West Indies for three Tests and a number of limited-over matches. But Shaharyar said that he is still to hear from the Test skipper about his cricket future.
"Misbah hasn`t talked to me about his availability [for the tour of West Indies].If he wants to continue playing, he should tell that to me directly," the Express Tribune quoted Shaharyar as saying.
The 81-year-old further revealed that he, in his last meeting with Misbah, had asked the latter to inform his decision on continuing or retiring as soon as possible.
"Recently, we met in Dubai and we decided that Misbah will tell me about his decision as soon as he reaches one. He hasn`t contacted me still," said Shaharyar.
The PCB chairman further said he is hoping to get Misbah`s reply before the squad for West Indies is finalized in order to have a better understanding about the situation.
"We haven`t selected the squad for West Indies as of now," he said. "I hope everything is clear before the selection committee meeting, "he said.
Earlier, Misbah had said that he wants to represent the country on the upcoming tour of the West Indies in whatever role the PCB wants him to go.
"Many people are concerned about my retirement, but I`ll most likely be going to the West Indies. But it is not clear if I`ll go as a captain or as a player," the Test skipper had said.

Pakistan will now aim to put much better performance when they head to West Indies for two Twenty20 internationals, three Tests and as many ODIs beginning March 31 at the Queen`s Park Oval.
