It was a night full of glamour, fun and of course movie actors in abundance. To put it straight, Indian International Film Festival (IIFA) rocked its 11th year in Toronto.

New Delhi: It was a night full of glamour, fun and of course movie actors in abundance. To put it straight, Indian International Film Festival (IIFA) rocked its 11th year in Toronto.
To make the event grand, the organizers walked that extra mile which was evident in the massive response it garnered from the fans in Toronto and the brouhaha it created in the media. So here goes a quick recap of what made IIFA 2011 a superhit. Of those who walked the red carpet for IIFA 2011 were the liked of Boman Irani, Dia Mirza, Anushka Sharma, Karan Johar, Amisha Patel, Bipasha Basu, Kangana Ranaut among many other actors. But there was only one man who basked in the limelight ever since he made an entry to Toronto`s Fairmont Royal York hotel. What was overwhelming were thousand of anxious fans waiting for hours to catch a glimpse of King Khan. SRK in his own serenading trademark style acknowledged his fans by clicking pictures with them and signing autographs. But there was more to come from the Baadshah of Bollywood on stage. He set the stage on fire with his impromptu dance act, witty one-liners which added more color to the revelry. Those who missed the show were the Bachchan family for third time in a row, Salman Khan and Preity Zinta. While writer-politician Shashi Tharoor’s visit was an unexpected surprise for the media. The awards evening was hosted by Anushka Sharma and Karan Johar who entertained the audiences along with Boman Irani and Ritesh Deshmukh. ‘Dabangg’ took away seven awards including Best Film while Anushka Sharma and Shahrukh Khan bagged the Best Actors trophies. Another interesting highlight of the IIFA 2011 event was the street naming ceremony held especially in the memory of legendary actor Raj Kapoor. To do the honor, the entire Kapoor clan flew down from Mumbai. The gala had a massive turnout of 800 delegates including actors, directors and producers. So now that IIFA 2011 was big, expect its 12th year to be bigger and better. This time bigwigs of Indian cinema will enthrall their fans in the lion city of Singapore. News is that Priyanka Chopra is all set to pay a tribute to actress Rekha in a performance which is going to nothing short of out and out dhamaal. With the entire ongoing buzz running around IIFA 2012, we just can’t wait to watch the real fun!
