Delhi: Back in 2007, producer Firoz Nadiadwala struck gold with the Akshay Kumar-Katrina Kaif starrer comedy ‘Welcome’. Six years later, in 2013, Nadiadwala is all set to embark on the sequel to that project of his – with a new lead, John Abraham.
The 2007 ‘Welcome’ starred many well-known names from the industry. Nana Patekar, late Feroz Khan, Anil Kapoor, Mallika Sherawat, Paresh Rawal were all part of the madcap ride along with Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif. However, this time around, Akshay Kumar will not be a part of the film. Instead, his ‘Desi Boyz’ and ‘Garam Masala’ co-star, John Abraham, will be seen in the flick.
Director Anees Bazmee will be donning the hat this time too. The 2007 hit comedy blockbuster turned out to be a strong financial success despite mixed critical reviews.
