New Delhi: Suzuki Motor Corp, the parent company of Maruti Suzuki India Chairman Osamu Suzki will setp down as CEO over improper fuel-efficiency testing, as per media reports.

Suzuki's executive vice president Osamu Honda is also set to resign to take responsibility for the Japanese automaker's use of wrong mileage testing methods, a reuters report said.

This comes as the latest bad news for the global auto industry which is already shaken by scandals over deadly defects and emissions cheating.

Suzuki, which also has a major presence in the Indian market through its Maruti Suzuki unit, sold almost three million vehicles globally last year.

The 16 models of Suzuki are involved in faulty testing that include Alto, WagonR, Baleno, S-cross, SX4 and Swift. MSI however has denied of any possible impact on these cars selling in India.
