Delhi: Strong, sexy, edgy - that`s what designer Surily Goel`s collection, `Fever`, can be summed up in a few words. The young designer has already been able to carve a niche for herself in the higher echelons of the Indian fashion design fraternity of the time, and her creativity is a glowing reminder of the fact that her achievement is completely justified. The first day of Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week - Spring Summer 2013 saw the designer display her collection on the ramp, and it was a brilliant sight, for sure!
Surily, whose eponymous line was launched in November 2003, currently stocks at one of India`s leading fashion stores, `Ensemble`. The designer`s current collection marks the label`s return to the trademark style of fringes and flirty movement - and added to that is a heady dose of the electric! Metallic accents along with a palette of colours like fluorescent yellow tangy tangerine and pop pink on nudes and blues made for an interesting watch.
`Fever` includes silhouettes ranging from playsuits, asymmetrical dresses and drapes to leggy mini-dresses and skirts. Aztec prints have beautifully been blended with geometric designs, and the results lend an utterly modern touch to each ensemble. Tank tops with neon studs and sequin shorts, scallop tops with embroidery, georgette dresses with draped bottom and fluorescent embroidery were exhibited on the ramp.
Sarah Jane Dias walked the ramp for Surily, dressed in the designer's creation, and made every head turn to look at her. The actress/model looked stunning in a blue ensemble.
Surily Goel, apart from being a famous fashion name, has gained enough recognition in the Hindi film industry as well. Styling and designing garments for movies are a favourite of the designer. Her works include designing for actors like Preity Zinta in `The Last Lear`, `Salaam Namaste` and `Ishqk in Paris`, for Rani Mukerji in `Ta Ra Rum Pum`, Genelia D`Souza in `Chance Pe Dance`, etc. Apart from films, the designer also holds an enviable achievement of dressing up Hrithik Roshan for `Just Dance` and has been actively associated with various international brands.
At the ongoing Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week - Spring Summer 2013, Surily Goel`s collection was launched with immense pomp and show.
