Cheryl Cole in lip-synching row on ‘The Voice’

Cheryl Cole has been accused of lip-synching while dancing to her new track ‘Call My Name’ on the ‘The Voice’.

London: Cheryl Cole has been accused of lip-synching while dancing to her new track ‘Call My Name’ on the reality talent show ‘The Voice’.
The former Girls Aloud star had promised to sing live for her first TV appearance since she was axed from ‘X Factor USA’ last year.
But fans claimed that the 28-year-old singer was not actually singing on the track to close the show. “It would have been hard for Cheryl to have sung through the whole performance — it was such an energetic dance routine,” the Sun quoted a source as saying. “But I’m sure people will be disappointed if they expected her to sing throughout,” the source added. The audience including judges Will.i.am, Jessie J, Tom Jones and Danny O’Donoghue leapt to their feet with thunderous applause after her big TV comeback. But hundreds of TV viewers took to Twitter accusing her of miming. “Cheryl Cole is definitely miming! Badly!” one Holly Murrell tweeted. Jessica Scrivener wrote: “A bit embarrassing that she’s gone on a singing show and mimed”. Alex Shepherd wrote: “Blatantly lip synching... Such an irony that she’s performing on a show that promotes real talent.” Cole, who is managed by Will.i.am, launched her performance with a dramatic 10ft swan dive into the arms of 20 hunky dancers. “I was looking for the quickest way to the stage,” Cole said of the jump. But the singer’s nerves showed as her mum stood by the stage for moral support. “Cheryl kept looking at her mum and Will.i.am for reassurance. She was brilliant though,” an onlooker said. Last night Cheryl’s publicist said she was singing into her microphone, adding: “She sang live with a backing track.” ANI
