Mumbai: Actress Tisca Chopra says initially she had turned down ‘Ankur Arora Murder Case’ as it was very tough for her to essay the role of a mother whose child is dead. She cried a lot after signing the film.
Written and produced by Vikram Bhatt and directed by Suhail Tattari, the film is said to be based on a real-life incident where a boy dies on the operation table due to medical negligence.
"I almost said no to `Ankur Arora Murder Case` because it is such a zone in which no one wants to delve into. No one wants to think about his child`s death even in the worst nightmare. So, I almost said no to Vikram and Suhail," said Tisca.
"But Suhail, who is also a good friend, pushed me to do this film. After I said yes to the film, I used to cry at night. I used to be in great pain," the actress told reporters Tuesday at the first look launch of the film.
She earlier played a mom to a dyslexic child in Aamir Khan`s film ‘Taare Zameen Par’, but insists that playing a mother whose child is dead is "more painful" and "challenging".
The 39-year-old added: "As the shoot for the film started, I felt as if it was necessary to tell the story. Somebody`s story was being told through me."
"How I managed to do the film? I don`t know, but it happened," she added.
Meanwhile, on being asked about the most challenging aspect for her in the role, Tisca said: "The challenging part was that there should be a continuity in your mind throughout that your child is dead and that heaviness should be there every time, whether you are having a coffee or doing the scene..."
"That thought should be there always and that was the most challenging for me to maintain," she added.
‘Ankur Arora Murder Case’ is slated to release June 14 and features Kay Kay Menon, Vishakha Singh, Paoli Dam and Arjun Mathur in important roles.
