New Delhi: Emraan Hashmi's controversy-hit film 'Tigers' is finally all set to see the light of day in India. Starring Emraan and Geetanjali Thapa, the film will be digitally released on November 21, 2018 on ZEE5.
It is to be noted that Emraan filmed for Danis Tanovic's 'Tigers' opposite national award-winning actress Geetanjali Thapa some four years ago. The film travelled to several international film festivals and received positive response from critics. However, the movie has not been able to release in India due to its bold subject. The film is reportedly based on a true story.
Noted trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the first look poster of the film, writing, "Emraan Hashmi... #Tigers will have its world digital premiere on 21 Nov 2018 on ZEE5... Directed by Academy Award winning Danis Tanović... Produced by Cinemorphic and Sikhya Entertainment."

Earlier, Emraan while speaking about about the film, told Mid-Day, "We went to Berlin, Toronto and New York. But it did not release here in India. There was a dispute between the producers here, and the film could not release when it had to, four years ago. By the time this dispute was sorted, there was one more — the India-Pakistan issue. I play a Pakistani in the film. We cannot have a release in this environment."
In the film, Emraan essays the role of a sales representative of a multinational company in Pakistan, where he discovers a scam involving baby food.
In the meantime, the actor recently finished shooting for Soumik Sen's 'Cheat India' which will be released in January next year. He has also be seen as a real-life detective in 'Father's Day'. The emotional-drama will be based on a book 'Drishyam Adrishyam' by Gujarati author Praful Shah. It will be directed by debutant Shantanu Baagchi, who has over 300 ad films to his credit.
