Planning to renew your driving license? Here’s how to do it online

A citizen who owns a bike or any kind of vehicle is required to have his/her own driving license as that provides a right to move freely with vehicles on roads.

A driving license’s validity stands for 20 years or if a person attains the age of 50 years in all states and UTs of India. 

It is important for license holders to renew the document after one year and now it can be done online or sitting at home via Aadhaar authentication.

 

Step 1: Visit the official website of Parivahan Sewa by clicking on the link- https://parivahan.gov.in/.

Step 2: Click on online services and then select driving license-related services.

Step 3: You will be redirected to a new page where you will have to select the name of your state.

Step 4: A new page will open based on your selection of the state. Then select the 'Apply for DL Renewal' option.

Step 5: You will see a page showing instructions for application submission.

Step 6: Then fill in the applicant or request details next.

Step 7: Upload the required documents (if any).

Step 8: You will be asked to upload a photo and signature and it is applicable only in certain states.

Step 9: Make the fee payment and verify your payment status.

Step 10: Download and take a print out of the receipt for future references.
