Indian man's 'sixth sense' prediction sets off alarm bells in Pakistan: Know why

ISLAMABAD: A top Pakistani intelligence agency has raised a major security alarm after learning that an Indian man can accurately make quake predictions based on his 'sixth sense', a media report said on Sunday.

Babu Kalayil, who claims to have an extrasensory ability, had reportedly written to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, predicting a major tsunami later this year.

Though the Indians took it lightly, the Pakistani spy agency has apparently taken it seriously and warned the country's disaster management authority of a massive underwater earthquake in the Indian Ocean later this year.

The intelligence agency has warned the Earthquake Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Authority (ERRA) to take precautionary measures after Kalayil's prediction, a Pakistani newspaper wrote.

A tsunami, or tidal wave, is triggered by an underwater earthquake which causes the displacement of a large volume of water, often with disastrous consequence.

On 26 December 2004, a major tsunami had hit the Indian coast with the epicenter off the west coast of Sumatra in Indonesia. Scores of people were killed and injured in the aftermath. It also caused huge economic loses.
